		<title>Alexandria's Kids Helping Kids Supports CFK Again!</title>
		<link>http://www.coats-for-kids.org//index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=224&amp;Itemid=33</link>
		<description>
For the fourth consecutive year, Alexandria's Lemonade Kids have decided again to support the work of the Coats for Kids Foundation, along with another Alexandria non-profit, the Alive Child Development Center.

This year, the Lemonade Kids goal is to raise $10,000 by having 50 lemonade stands throughout Alexandria on May 1st. This date is also the date that Alexandria has its Spring cleanup in all city parks.

Coordinating the effort this year is Tom May, brother of Katie, who co-chaired the program since its founding in 2007.

 Already, the Lemonade Kids have several sponsors and more than 20 teenagers committed to helping to raise money and run the lemonade stands on May 1st. If you son or daughter would like to become involved, please reach out to Tom through the Lemonade Kids website, www.kidshelpingkidsalexandria.org, or by email (may21@cox.net) or by calling 703-317-1911. Tom would appreciate the help.

 This project is one of the finest examples of youth involvement in Alexandria. We encourage parents and their kids to become involved!

		<title>All Coats Delivered for Winter!</title>
		<link>http://www.coats-for-kids.org//index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=223</link>
		<description>
This year, the Coats for Kids Foundation had a fantastic year and all of you are to be thanked for making this possible! Unfortunately, we have now exhausted our funds and sources for new winter coats. That's a good and a bad thing. In 2009, we met every single request for new coats in the Metro DC area. We also had more adopt a school programs than ever before.

However, we will not have more coats until next September.

		<title>Coats Delivered Nearing 10,000!</title>
		<link>http://www.coats-for-kids.org//index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=222&amp;Itemid=33</link>
		<description>
This has been a fantastic year because of the generosity of corporations,service clubs, and individuals who have latched onto our mission that every child who does not have a winter coat deserves a new one.

At year-end, CFK delivered 9,722 new coats!

		<title>Coats Delivered Outside DC Region Must Have Local Fundraising Support</title>
		<link>http://www.coats-for-kids.org//index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=188&amp;Itemid=33</link>
		<description>
For the past four years, the Coats for Kids Foundation has had significant support that has allowed us to meet the need for winter coats far beyond our immediate area. In fact, we have delivered coats to 26 states and the District of Columbia! Almost 7,000 of the 12,000 new coats have been distributed in VA, DC, MD!

Today, we very much want to continue to help groups outside of our area, but our funding sources require us to give a clear, focused priority to Alexandria, VA and the surrounding DC metropolitan area.

		<title>New Order System On-Line</title>
		<link>http://www.coats-for-kids.org//index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=186&amp;Itemid=33</link>
		<description>
The new order system is on-line and it is different from prior years. Here's how:

 1. All coats in the Washington DC metro region (MD, VA, DC) are underwritten by contributions from the Combined Federal Campaign (federal employees via payroll deduction), Kids Helping Kids, Inc., Alexandria, VA, and the Susswein-Gottesman Fund, Alexandria, VA.

2. Fundraising will be necessary at the local, community level, to offset CFK's expenses to source and ship the coats outside of the DC metro region.
