The new order system is on-line and it is different from prior years. Here's how:
1. All coats in the Washington DC metro region (MD, VA, DC) are underwritten by contributions from the Combined Federal Campaign (federal employees via payroll deduction), Kids Helping Kids, Inc., Alexandria, VA, and the Susswein-Gottesman Fund, Alexandria, VA.
2. Fundraising will be necessary at the local, community level, to offset CFK's expenses to source and ship the coats outside of the DC metro region.
3. The order system does show a cost/coat which will help those
organizations outside Washington identify a fundraising goal that will
be necessary to reach for CFK to ship the coats.
4. All coats are shipped via FedEx to the recipient organization, and the cost is included within the cost/coat.
5. Coats must now be ordered in case quantities--six coats/case and
all of the same size for boys or girls. This is very different and
will take some getting used to, but it is necessary for us to increase
the number of coats delivered to needy kids. We can no longer manage
the growth in CFK from our home.
6. You will now tell us when you would like the coats delivered. We
will notify you if we have difficulty meeting your requested delivery
date, otherwise you can expect it very close to the date requested.
7. You will now directly receive tracking information from FEDEX
via email. With that tracking number, you will know exactly where your
shipment is and when it will be on your door step.
Yes, this is all very different but very necessary for us to continue to fulfill our mission.
